Tia Chi was originated in China as a martial art. Tia Chi is referred to a "moving meditation". While breathing deeply one moves their body slowly with awareness. Tia Chi was used for self- defense but over time people use it for health purposes to improve their well being. Legend gives credit to Chang San- Feng a monk who developed a set of 13 moves that imitated the movements of animals. Tia Chi incorporates the Chinese concept of the Yin- Yang (opposing force with in the body). People practice Tia Chi in groups or alone.
